Black Eyed Peas – Rock that body
The black eyed peas do it again with another big tune complete with a trademark riff and memorable chorus. They’re sticking to the same formula which is both radio and dancefloor friendly, ensuring huge airplay and mega spins in clubs and music bars. The tune has a Calvin Haris inspired, eighties throwback sound with a great relentless rhythm and the usual smooth and hip vocals from Will I Am and Fergie. This is the fourth single from the album “The E.N.D.” and while it doesn’t have the guaranteed and instant anthemesque appeal of “I’ve got a feeling”, you’re going to be hearing it on the radio, watching the video on MTV and hopefully dancing to this right into the summer of 2010.

Pixie Lott – Gravity
Pop princess Pixie takes on the chart again with yet another ballad. Sounds good on the radio but I can’t help thinking that this may be one tune too far. Pixie Lotts success is largely built on the bubblegum pop music formula with catchy tunes such as “Mama Do” and Girls & Boys” appealing to a mass market while still remaining “cool” – due in no small part to the image and hype surrounding the 18 year old. With this in mind perhaps a more upbeat and catchy tune a la Lady GaGa would have been a better choice for a single release. For the dancefloor Cahill has been tasked with remixing duties and while it beefs up the tune it still has a downbeat, dreary, unhappy feel to it.

Pitbull feat Akon – Shut It Down
Riding on the crest of a wave following two monster hits, Pitbull has teamed up with fellow megastar Akon to produce another surefire hit and possibly the first big club tune of early summer. If you’re in the market for a feel good tune with a thumping bassline then look no further!!! I’ve had this on pre release for over a month and it’s proved to be a guaranteed floorfiller in the clubs and at parties – and that’s before its official general release. People have been requesting this tune for weeks now which is an indicator of just how big this track is going to be. This, as you can imagine, is going to get played to death on radio and on all the music channels with loads of premium slots on the shows that matter. The extended version of this fits the bill with a nice intro and breakdown. Surefire hit…
